Dare to Devise is a new development scheme aimed at mid-career artists to encourage the devising of new cross-artform, circus-inspired work. The scheme includes free studio space, a cash bursary, mentoring and access to Nearly There Yet’s devising process. Dare to Devise is supported by Arts Council England.
Receiving this funding will allow me to carry on exploring a project that is very dear to my heart, as well as discover and go deeper into my artistic practice. It will also give me the opportunity to collaborate with wonderful artists and theoreticians.

I'm really excited to be part of Dare to Devise, to have the time and space to share a very personal story and allow it to grow into what I hope will be a thrilling, funny and truthful show.
Being part of Dare to Devise couldn’t be more pivotal for me. For the first time in my career, I’m making a feature length show using my dance vocabulary and I have the opportunity to explore the additional use of contact and partner acrobatics. Dare to Devise gives me the support and mentorship to push my theatre- making into new creative frontiers, which will shape the future of my work to come.

Being chosen for this project not only gives me seed funding, mentoring and the connections to work on and develop my first show (and myself as an artist) but primarily it shows that the guys at Nearly There Yet and Proteus believe in my ideas, abilities and potential to become a fully fledged creative circus performer. Feeling that belief, is for me, a total game changer.
